Carol Greenwood MFHT, Founder
Carol has over 30 years of professional training and experience in the world of health and wellbeing, having trained as a nurse at University College London in 1993. She went on to practice nursing in both the NHS and private sectors, adding additional training and specialisms as she progressed her career, finally working as a senior sister in Frimley Park’s occupational health department.
While Carol loved her work in many ways, she could never find the specialism or role that fitted with her innate belief that the answer to better health, was not about treating disease but promoting good health practices. She could not find anywhere in the health service where she felt health and wellbeing were actually the focus of care! So in 2008, Carol chose to leave nursing in search of a more holistic way to support what she now calls “thrival”, a term coined by her great friend and co-founder of the Greeenwood Holistic Health Group, Patricia Worby, PhD meaning more than to survive, but to thrive..
Carol’s search for her authentic calling in life became her full time business in 2010, when she opened her first massage practice in Surrey. Since then, Carol has continued to enhance her practice with formal trainings, her favourite of which is Myofascial Release Technique for its ability to release emotional traumas as well as physical restrictions. In 2018 – 2019 Carol herself became critically unwell with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, being forced to give up her beloved business to focus entirely on her own health and wellbeing. It was during this time that she met Patricia who helped her overcome the emotional stumbling blocks to her recovery, and a miracle of synchronicity enabled them to share both of their long-held dreams of creating a holistic group practice to support individuals back to supreme health and wellbeing. Thus from this life-changing experience a new seed has grown..
Recently qualified both as a Chrysalis Effect Specialist Practitioner and as an accredited ILM Wellbeing Coach to enhance her already proven skills, now forms the perfect fit within the team to facilitate our client’s discovery of true health, wellbeing and vitality.
Carol has 2 older children and enjoys spending time with them and her dog, taking long walks in the rolling Hampshire Downs where she lives, as well as getting to the coast as often as possible. She has discovered the joy and value of daily self care practices including meditation, yoga and her far-infrared sauna. Her idea of heaven is a Cornish beach with her friends and dog as she loves to hike, sail, surf and swim.
Patricia Worby, PhD, Co-Founder
Patricia Worby, PhD1 is a trained research scientist, author and award-winning Chrysalis Effect Specialist Practitioner in fatigue and chronic illness2specialising in emotional trauma release. After graduation in Biochemistry with Pharmacology, she was going to ‘change the world through science’ but life intervened in a quite surprising way. After a series of devastating health challenges in her 30’s, including depression and chronic fatigue, she found no solution in conventional medicine and so began to research to find her own answers. What she found changed her world view permanently and began an entirely new career and life change.
She trained in massage , Reiki, natural medicine (naturopathy) and nutrition. She then launched a successful holistic therapy business in 2013, but she noticed that not everyone responded to interventions in a lasting way and came to realise that childhood relational trauma was a large contributor to that inability to heal permanently. She found many people developed Chronic Fatigue Syndromes (CFS/ME) as a result of a hyper-alert stress response and became a Chrysalis Effect Practitioner specialising in the emotional healing of CFS/ME and Fibromyalgia in 2014. She therefore trained in psychology and hypnotherapy and is now a specialist somatic trauma therapist using Hypnotherapy (completing her PhD in clinical hypnotherapy in 2016), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to relieve the chronic stress of somatic emotional imprints to long-term illness of all kinds.
She has written numerous books, online courses and now hosts a regular podcast where she interviews other ‘health warriors’ and reviews books and tools to self-healing. In her ‘spare time’ she loves playing music, visiting art galleries, taking walks in nature and researching new ideas in biology and physics. She believes there has never been a better time to be alive.
Dr Rainer Viehweger, Senior Associate
Born in 1963 in Rostock at the Baltic Sea, Rainer grew up in the South of Berlin near Potsdam. Being interested in how the human body works, he decided to study medicine and he graduated as a medical doctor in 1987 from the Medical University of Szeged Hungary. As a young doctor he was lucky to be able to work at the Orthopedic Department of the famous Charité at Humboldt University in Berlin. In 1992 he became an orthopaedic specialist and was offered a University career but this did not appeal and in 1993 he left the clinic and founded an outpatient clinic in Southwest Mecklenburg. During that time he had the opportunity to be trained in Chirotherapy, Acupuncture, Neural therapy, and very importantly, in Trigger Osteopractics and Trigger-Shockwave-Therapy (TST).
Since 2003, he has run a private clinic with the focus on myofascial pain syndromes and finding and resolving the root causes of chronic disease. From 2006 to 2017 he had the opportunity to train international colleagues in a variety of CAM methods, including the NES Health system and Vital Field Therapy.
In his eyes, the human body is a multidimensional system which includes informational, electro-magnetic and biochemical-functional levels. For each level, he use analytic and therapeutic CAM methods which can help understanding what is going on in the body and how to make the best changes to improve self-healing. To achieve this to date he has trained and become and certified in Trigger-shockwave therapy, Psychosomatic Energetics, Scenar therapy (in 2003/4), NES Health and miHealth treatments, Sensitiv Imago Bioresonance, in Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM). He selects between these a combination to suit the individual client. Currently, he sees clients in Germany and online. German is his first language, but he speaks fluent English and Hungarian.
His primary fascination is understanding how the Universe works, with a view to integrating the knowledge he has gleaned into no less than a comprehensive system of life. His passion is learning about global scaling; a very important natural phenomenon underlying all processes in the Universe from the realms of subatomic space to the widths of cosmic dimensions. On this scale the size of a human cell is at the centre, and in terms of mass/energy the weight of the human body is also in the centre of the Universe. He has written an e-book (shortly to be updated) on the subject and is passionate about teaching this essential information via courses and webinars.
His aim is to pass this knowledge on to his clients and also a bigger audience in order to enable people to live their own life in full responsibility, and not to be lived by the ideas of others. He is convinced that if a human being is able to be authentic and honest in their life, chronic diseases cannot develop. By spreading the word of this new information, he wants to contribute to a better future for humanity.
Bee Innes, IFM, Senior Associate
Bee Innes was only 24 when she developed a neurological condition which left her virtually bedridden for almost 8 years. The medical profession had no answers for her so she turned to alternative therapies. It was through her search for answers that she came across naturopathic nutritional therapy.
She had seen many nutritionists over the years due to a range of gastrointestinal problems, but this was different. This wasn’t someone giving her a list of what she should and shouldn’t eat with some stock supplements. This form of nutritional therapy was looking at what she could detoxify out of her body as well as what she was putting in. It gave her some invaluable lifelong tools to open up her body’s routes of elimination so that she could clear out the toxins that were damaging her cells and giving rise to a wide array of multi system symptoms.
It was individualised to her and showed her how I could switch off any expression of unwanted inherited genetic mutations. It explained why standard nutritionist diets were not working for her by using laboratory tests to explore any pathogens in her system, her own unique microbiome, genetics, etc.
Finally her numerous health conditions and challenges with food sensitivities that had eluded both allopathic health care professionals and alternative therapists for years started to make sense. And it put them in context, explaining what lifestyle, hormonal and emotional changes she needed to make.
This has given her the passion she has today to educate, support and empower other people to take control of their health and wellbeing through harnessing food, supplements, detoxification techniques and lifestyle modification in order to activate that innate healing ability that every one of us has.
She holds an advanced practitioner diploma in nutritional healing, full membership of the Federation for Nutritional Therapy Practitioners and full professional indemnity and medical malpractice insurance.
In her spare time you can find her nerding out learning even more about the field of nutrition and naturopathy. She also sings professionally and is a bit of a crazy cat lady!
